The stars came out in full force tonight as the 6th Annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards lit up The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. The red carpet was a stunning display of fashion, glamour, and Black excellence, and the looks did not disappoint.
Founded by media mogul Jason Lee, the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards has become one of the most anticipated nights on the calendar, celebrating the individuals who continue to push culture forward through entertainment, activism, business, and community impact. Hosted once again by the always-entertaining Tiffany Haddish, with the legendary Babyface serving as musical director, tonight's ceremony honored a powerhouse slate of changemakers.
The Honorees
This year's distinguished group of honorees reflected the depth and range of Black cultural leadership. Filmmaker, studio owner, and entrepreneur Tyler Perry was celebrated with the Innovator Award, recognizing two decades of transforming the entertainment landscape. Actress Meagan Good received the Spirit Award, while Grammy-winning singer Kehlani was honored with the Fearlessness Award.
Gospel icon and 20-time Grammy winner Kirk Franklin received the Inspiration Award, and Wu-Tang Clan founder RZA was presented with the Culture Award, a fitting tribute to a man whose influence on music and film spans generations.
A Carpet Full of Showstoppers
The fashion tonight ran the full spectrum, from old-Hollywood elegance to bold, fearless statement-making. Deep blacks dominated the carpet, proving once again that nothing commands a room quite like a perfectly tailored dark silhouette against the Hilton's signature floral backdrop of red and pink roses.
Host Tiffany Haddish set the tone for the evening, working the carpet with the same energy and charisma she brings to the stage. As both host and one of the night's most photographed guests, she proved why she remains a fixture of the Impact Awards.
Sheer and sculptural looks were a major theme of the evening, with several guests embracing texture, transparency, and body-conscious tailoring that turned the carpet into a runway. Chloe Bailey was a standout, commanding the carpet in an intricately embroidered sheer gown.
The Gentlemen Brought the Heat
The men more than held their own tonight. Community Award honoree from years past Vic Mensa made a sharp statement in head-to-toe black leather, proving that menswear can be just as much of a main event as any gown on the carpet.
Bold, Fearless, and Unapologetic
True to the spirit of Hollywood Unlocked, several guests embraced the daring and the dramatic, the kind of fearless fashion that gets the whole internet talking by morning.
A Celebration of Love and Legacy
Inspiration Award honoree Kirk Franklin arrived alongside his wife Tammy, the couple sharing some of the evening's warmest carpet moments. Their appearance was a reminder that behind the glamour, the night was a celebration of the people and partnerships that sustain a life in the culture.
More Than a Red Carpet
Beyond the glamour, the night carried real purpose. This year's ceremony benefited the Hollywood Cares Foundation, the nonprofit Jason Lee launched in 2022 to uplift underserved youth in Black and Brown communities through programming centered on youth leadership, civic engagement, and personal development. A portion of all proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships goes directly toward the foundation's initiatives.
It is that combination, star power in service of community, that has made the Impact Awards a signature event. Previous honorees have included Cardi B, Whoopi Goldberg, Keke Palmer, Don Lemon, Fantasia, and Niecy Nash-Betts, a roll call that speaks to the platform's reach and respect across the industry.
As the evening moved from the carpet into an intimate dinner, special performances, and an exclusive after-party, one thing was clear: the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards remains a celebration not just of style, but of the culture that creates it.
From the gowns to the gentlemen, tonight's red carpet was a reminder that when Black Hollywood shows up, it shows out. Black Beat was watching every step of the carpet, and the looks more than delivered.
